Adquisición y desarrollo de las competencias presentadas en el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las lenguas: aprendizaje, enseñanza, evaluación (nivel B2.2/C1.1). Se utilizará la lengua inglesa en los diferentes ámbitos profesionales relacionados con el contexto turístico y empresarial a nivel avanzado. Se pondrán de manifiesto los conocimientos previos adquiridos y se ampliarán dentro del entorno profesional requerido. Así mismo, se mejorarán las destrezas orales y escritas en lengua inglesa dentro del contexto profesional del alumnado.

All the units are associated to the practice of the language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, in addition to the interaction between speakers.

Pronunciation practice
Promoting the continuous improvement of working and study conditions of the entire university community is one the basic principles and goals of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena. Such commitment to prevention and the responsibilities arising from it concern all realms of the university: governing bodies, management team, teaching and research staff, administrative and service staff and students. The UPCT Service of Occupational Hazards (Servicio de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales de la UPCT) has published a "Risk Prevention Manual for new students" (Manual de acogida al estudiante en materia de prevención de riesgos), which may be downloaded from the e-learning platform ("Aula Virtual") under the "Act in an Emergency" section, "Technical Guides" tab, with instructions and recommendations on how to act properly, from the point of view of prevention (safety, ergonomics, etc.), when developing any type of activity at the University. You will also find, in the "Act in an Emergency", sectionrecommendations on how to proceed in an emergency or if an incident occurs. Particularly when carrying out training practices in laboratories, workshops or field work, you must follow all your teacher's instructions, because he/she is the person responsible for your safety and health during practice performance. Feel free to ask any questions you may have and do not put your safety or that of your classmates at risk.
Practical sessions focus on oral and written communication skills in academic and professional settings.
Use of English (UoE): 30%.
Interaction and oral production skills: 25%.
Listening comprehensionl: 25%.
Writing and UoE tasks (5%) and the contents in the assignment on a specific topic (5%).
Individual oral presentation: 10%.
Las actividades superadas durante el curso se conservarán durante el curso académico y únicamente deberán recuperarse aquellas no superadas.
En las convocatorias ordinaria y extraordinaria el estudiantado podrá recuperar exclusivamente las actividades no superadas mediante pruebas equivalentes que mantendrán la misma ponderación:
Assessment of individual and/or group written assignments (5%): trabajo escrito individual equivalente.
Individual and/or group presentation and defense of projects, reports and/or studies (10%): presentación oral individual equivalente.
Assessment of participation and individual and/or group practical activities (5%): actividad escrita equivalente de Writing Skills y Use of English.
Spoken or written exams (80%): recuperación de las partes no superadas (Use of English 30%, Interaction and Oral Production 25% y Listening Comprehension 25%).
