Promoting the continuous improvement of working and study conditions of the entire university community is one the basic principles and goals of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena. Such commitment to prevention and the responsibilities arising from it concern all realms of the university: governing bodies, management team, teaching and research staff, administrative and service staff and students. The UPCT Service of Occupational Hazards (Servicio de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales de la UPCT) has published a "Risk Prevention Manual for new students" (Manual de acogida al estudiante en materia de prevención de riesgos), which may be downloaded from the e-learning platform ("Aula Virtual"), with instructions and recommendations on how to act properly, from the point of view of prevention (safety, ergonomics, etc.), when developing any type of activity at the University. You will also find recommendations on how to proceed in an emergency or if an incident occurs. Particularly when carrying out training practices in laboratories, workshops or field work, you must follow all your teacher's instructions, because he/she is the person responsible for your safety and health during practice performance. Feel free to ask any questions you may have and do not put your safety or that of your classmates at risk.
Class in conventional classroom: theory, problems, case studies, seminars, etc
Expository classes in which, in addition to the lecturer's presentation, doubts formulated by the students or detected by the lecturer are resolved, intercalated with practical examples and questions are posed to be resolved by the students (with or without marking). In this way, interaction with students is promoted.
Practical activities (questions, exercises, problems) in the classroom and similar activities to be solved by the student independently, individually or in groups (with or without marking), in the classroom or outside it. The practical classes allow the theoretical knowledge acquired to be put into practice.
Learning outcomes RA8 and RA35.
63
100
Class in a computer classroom: practical classes / internships
Problem solving through the use of specific software in the computer classroom. Learning outcomes RA8 and RA35.
8
100
Assessment activities (continuous assessment system)
Through the performance of partial exams and different activities the student's understanding of the subject and their progression in the acquisition of learning outcomes RA8 and RA35 will be determined.
4
100
Assessment activities (final assessment system)
Through the performance of final exams and different activities the student's understanding of the subject and their progression in the acquisition of the competences CB2, CG2, CE08 and CT05, as well as the learning outcomes (1) to (6), will be determined.
2
100
Tutorials
Resolution of doubts about theoretical and practical content, monitoring of learning outcomes RA8 and RA35. The tutoring and mentoring activities guidance activities allow the determination of the progression and acquisition of learning outcomes RA8 and RA35 by the student on an individual basis.
Learning outcomes RA8 and RA35.
2.5
80
Student work: study or individual or group work
Carrying out individual or group assignments. Study, by the student, of contents related to the theoretical and practical classes, tutorials, etc. Preparing exams, library research, complementary reading, solving problems and exercises.

Spoken or written exams
Two partial exams, one per term, with theoretical and/or practical exercises and questions. The evaluation activities with multiple answer options (multiple choice), if any, will include a penalty for incorrect answers equal to or greater than the probability of getting the right answer randomly.
Learning Outcomes RA8 and RA35.
Students will be able to keep the mark obtained in each of the partial exams throughout the academic year and will not be required to take the corresponding activity of the final evaluation system to pass the course. However, the completion, in full or in part, of the corresponding activity of the final evaluation system, will result in the student renouncing the grade obtained in that activity of the Continuous Evaluation System.
80 %
Participation and involvement in the teaching-learning process
Attendance and participation in classes, as well as other online or non face-to-face activities may be assessed. It may also include the realization, during the classes, of exercises proposed by the teacher or the response to multiple-choice questionnaires. Some of these activities may be done in groups. The evaluation activities with multiple answer options (test type), if any, may include a penalty for incorrect answers equal to or greater than the probability of getting the right answer randomly.
Learning outcomes RA8 and RA35.
Students will have the possibility to keep the mark obtained in this activity during the whole academic year and will not be required to take the corresponding activity of the final evaluation system in order to pass. However, the realization, in full or in part, of the corresponding activity in the final evaluation system, will mean the student will renounce the mark obtained in that activity of the continuous evaluation system in that call.
20 %
Spoken or written exams
The two partial exams will be incorporated into a single written exam (80%) in which it will be indicated which sections correspond to each one of them, keeping the same weights established in the Continuous Evaluation System. The activity "Participation and involvement in the teaching-learning process" will be evaluated by means of a written exam (20%) with theoretical-practical questions that may contain multiple-choice questions, which will include a penalty for incorrect answers equal to or greater than the probability of getting the answer right at random.
Learning outcomes RAB and RA3S.
Marks obtained in the final assessment system are not kept for the extraordinary assessment system.
